Popular fragrances aren’t all that

Had some freetime today and saw a bunch of designer fragrances for sale in the mall.

I tested basically all of the popular fragrances from a bunch of different brands like ysl, valentino, jpg, chanel, versace, D&G.

They all smelled nice but not as nice as I thought they would concidering the hype.

The best fragrance imo that I’ve used for ages is hugo boss boss bottled. None of the others don’t even come close to it.

Agreed, a lot are underwhelming and have bad quality to cut cost even more or fit some stupid regulations.

Some I have recently tried and generally like:

Tom Ford oud wood and tobacco vanilla
Aventus
Terre d'hermes (Pure Parfum prob more than EDT)
LV Imagination

got a Roja Elysium tester as well. It's ok but wasn't too impressed tbh.

I want to try some more from LV, will report how I like the rest of their line.

Also it's not necessary to get the real brand, there are very good dupes (with even better concentration and longevity than the original). I'll test some more from one dupe house I really like so far and maybe share it on here if I get a ref link

Unfortunately no dupe for TdH. I actually wrote the guy who creates those dupes about how I'd like to see a TdH dupe from him.

Saw somewhere that people who like TdH might also enjoy:

Hmm I’ve heard that the lv imagination is really good. Tho I’m most likely not going to buy that because of the price. If you have some good dupes that aren’t as costly I’d love to hear them

Ok, I tested a few at the store today. Those I liked, I will order a sample for

L'immensite - tested on a card and on the skin. It's ok, it didn't impress me tbh. It's not bad smelling, but very generic. Like your average designer fragrance. Will probably not order a sample (unless my opinion changes when I get home).

Pacific chill - tested on skin and card. Very fruity, smells like a fruit punch soft drink. Quite peachy. Will probably order a sample.

Afternoon swim - only on card. More muted version of Pacific chill imo. Have to smell it again on skin, so I will probably order a sample. Longevity is apparently not very good.

Orange - on the card it smells like sauvage to me. Like a pimped version of sauvage. Might order a sample because I'm curious how it's on the skin.

Sur la route - on card. Smells surprisingly leathery. It's not a bad smelling leather fragrance. And it's way more friendly and wearable than Gucci guilty (the leather version, forgot the name) and TF Tuscan leather. But leather isn't really my thing, especially not for summer, so I will probably not order a sample. Even though it can be worn in summer.

if you dont care about the collecting/hobby part of having perfume then just buy arab dupes. I personally wear my high quality dupes the most but still buy expensive niches since i just like collecting them and smelling unique.
