SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR THREAD SONG!!
(cant add it here)
Hello friends, I’ve noticed there’s a pretty big misunderstanding when it comes to porn addiction.
A lot of people seem to think porn addiction simply means watching too much porn, but that’s only part of it. One of the biggest problems is the escalation that can come with it, constantly moving onto new, more extreme genres because the stuff you used to watch doesn’t hit the same anymore. That’s the part of porn addiction I want to talk about today in this thread.
I am writing this thread to (hopefully) enlighten you all on the state of psychological and moral destruction that pornography can lead you to.
For reference: I myself was an addict to pornography. I stopped my addiction over 3 years ago now.
First part: What even is “Escalation”?
Simply put: you start with something that gets you off, After enough time, it doesn’t have the same effect, So you search for something different -> Then something more specific -> Then something you wouldn’t have searched for when you first started.
Eventually, the novelty itself becomes part of the addiction.
an example of this(directly quoted from a study):
“When I started I would get an erection if I would type the word boobs on Google… and that would be enough. And that just escalated slowly over time to lesbian sex then to regular sex, then to more hardcore types of material… It even escalated like to transexual porn…”
Nobody necessarily wakes up one day and decides they’re going to search for something completely different. It happens gradually. What used to excite you becomes normal, then you keep browsing until you come across more extreme content one example being racial cuckoldery as it is getting more and more common everyday. i have seen loads of these on this very forum.
Some common signs of this kind of escalation include:
- Genre escalation: moving into categories you didn’t previously watch because the old stuff isn’t enough.
- Tab-jumping: constantly switching between tabs looking for something better.
- Binge sessions: sitting there for hours consuming porn and searching for the “perfect” video.
- Edging: delaying orgasm so the session lasts longer.
- Increasing consumption: spending more time watching or needing more material than before.
basically the pattern of constantly needing something new.
Second part: The research on Escalation
This isnt something that i pulled out of online forums only, theres actual research behind this.
A 2024 paper published in Addictive Behaviors specifically examined escalating patterns of pornography use.
The researchers used two samples of male pornography users:
Sample one: 1,356 people
Sample two: 944 people
They looked at things including increasing pornography consumption, moving toward more stimulating genres, tabjumping, edging and pornography binges.
Basically the people who had the hardest time controlling their porn use were also more likely to binge, edge, jump between tabs, and keep looking for more stimulating content.

Another study published in Scientific Reports in 2023 looked at 67 people who self-identified as having problematic pornography use.
The participants described things like escalation, tolerance, bingeing and searching for increasingly stimulating material. Some specifically described ending up watching shit that they previously would have considered not interesting at all or even disgusting.
One of the addicts described starting with simply searching “boobs” and gradually escalating through different categories until eventually reaching trans porn as i mentioned as the first example.
Link to said study: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9861829/
Third part: Real examples from Porn Addicts
Example 1(escalation in general):
“Most of the regular front page of pornhub has become incredibly boring to me, and doesn’t get me anywhere close to an orgasm. And so naturally, I try to find something else that gets me there. However over time the stuff I look at has become more and more fucked up… More extreme, more obscure, more kinky, all of that.”

Reddit post
Example 2(escalation to transporn):
“I’ve got to know that I’ve developed a trans porn fetish due to porn escalation.”
and he goes on to say:
“I used to be turned off by T porn… but now I’ve somehow gotten a taste for it.”
link:
Reddit post(transporn example)
Example 3(escalation to femboy porn):
“when I started watching, I only watched straight porn (girls). I was always straight and I had no doubt about it.”
then describes seeing femboy porn for the first time:
“I escalated and came across a picture of a known femboy in a swimsuit… I acted on what I saw and had so much regret but I repeated this cycle a few more times…”
then says that porn completely changed his sexuality:
“My escalation had completely warped and ruined my sexuality.”
link:
Reddit post(femboy example)
Example 4(escalation to cuckoldery):
“Reading cuckold stories while lying down… became my favourite thing.”
then:
“Years went by n my fantasies related to cuckolding n femdom became deeper.”
then:
“Off late I even fantasize about giving oral to a man or allowing someone penetrate me anally ..a thing that I never ever thought of doing few years ago.”
and OP even says that he repeatedly tried quitting but relapsed because:
“my brain craves this thing so much”

Reddit Post(cuckoldery example)
If you’re already noticing that you’re searching for things you never would’ve searched for before, that’s a pretty good point to step back.
break the pattern before its too late and you become a faggot cuck.
thanks for reading.
