If you look into female sports themselves they aren’t dominated by attractive women. In fact most women who engage in sports on any serious level aren’t that attractive both because the necessities of sport tend to be antithetical with female attractiveness and femininity. Constant physical exertion causes the reduction of fat and the development of muscle which is masculine not feminine. Sports are inherently a masculine endeavor because the ability exert yourself physically is something that depends on male characteristics, that’s why males evolved the way they did, because they needed to constantly physically exert themselves over evolutionary history in the forms of hunting and fighting. Sports are an entertaining expression of evolutionarily valuable male traits and is the reason why all top tier athletes are male. You NEED to be masculine to reach the pinnacles of sport and to compete seriously as a woman, you NEED to have a more male typical phenotype than other women. Sexually dimorphic female traits such as wide hips, large breasts, small ribcage and clavicles are antithetical to peak physical performance.

There is an evolutionary tradeoff where highly competent and masculine women are not as sexually attractive but the benefit is if they bear you a son, he will be sexually attractive. Whereas highly feminine and incompetent women are highly sexually attractive but may bear you a less physically fit son. The tradeoff is if the feminine woman bears you a daughter, you are basically guaranteed a continuation of your lineage where if the masculine woman bears you a son you are also basically guaranteed reproductive success. However in each scenario if the reverse happens (feminine woman bears you a son, or masculine woman bears you a daughter) there is now an increased risk of lower reproductive success.

Greater height, bones mass, physical fitness, and aggression (the things required to succeed at sport) are a cost to women reproductively. This is why taller women have less children and more relationship problems.

Physical fitness is to some degree healthy but the physical fitness required for higher sports performance can reduce attractiveness in woman when taken to the extremes which is what you see in female athletes. The attractive female athletes are just attractive women who like sports and follow the same distribution of attractiveness in any other domain.

If there appears to be any greater concentration of attractive women in sports it’s only because there are a lot of women nowadays that aren’t physically fit at all and have drastically lowered the bar, not because female athletes are particularly attractive.

It’s like the guys who say a woman who is feminine is some sort of superior specimen. She is not, that is the default, but when every woman is a career feminist who hates men than these very mundane traits will start to stand out. It’s not that these traits are inherently special it’s that everything else has gotten so bad that your standards for what is significant are lower.
