What's up guys,
I have tried this before and definitely think it can be used for the following:
The exercise is pretty basic and I wouldn't be surprised if it's already been discussed, surprised I can't find anything on it.
This is also a good alternative to those who don't like / don't have jaw chews, I personally can't stand the things, and this is practically free.
You take a backpack that has a strap on top, preferrably one with a strap that has some sort of grip or wrapping that makes it thicker and easier to bit on, not a jansport-type strap but you can use that if you'd like
- Fill with weights or heavy miscellaneous items (start with low weights high reps)
- Bit down, then while also holding the bottom of the bag in case it slips for light support, do reps of opening and closing the bag with your jaw
This may or may not cause jaw damage or teeth damage, if you are doing it properly the strap should be laid across your bottom teeth evenly and you shouldn't feel any pain in your teeth or that they're sinking. If you feel that you either have really weak gums/teeth or the weight is too much. I found even 15lb dumbbell was already enough weight.
You can also use this to work out your neck in a way similar to a head strap but that would be a better option than this.
If anyone starts this or has seen results feel free to leave a message below and let's talk more.
While doing this exercise I recommend you treat it like an actual exercise and make sure to do 3 sets of however many reps you're comfortable with, with 1-2 minutes rest between and to eat enough protein. I don't recommend doing this right before sleep, and after you finish doing this you will feel like your jaw is trying to stay closed, your muscles are tightening I believe so hold your bottom jaw, pull it open and hold for 30 seconds to prevent any sort of weird damage. This is also recommended by the jaw chew youtubers etc.
Disclaimer: The above post is a joke and I have never done these exercises, I do not condone this exercise and am posting it for satire / fun, if anyone does this it is not my responsibility or fault whatever happens to you
Cheers.
