In 2025 I was working as a lifeguard the whole summer.
As i was watching the water, two girls around my age were talking and giggling in the pool.
One was a bit younger looking, around 19-20, she was wearing a green bikini. She looked MHTB to me but I couldn’t decide because of her wearing sunglasses.
She started waving at me, smiling. However,my girl collegues were talking to the left of me, so I had no clue whether she was waving at me or not. Also it was still in the morning, i wasn’t caffeinated, had no more nicotine gums in my bag, so I was pissed off.
Nevertheless, i didn’t wave back, and acted as a I hadn’t seen it. She turned to her slightly older friend or sister and hid behind a corner of the pool. Few minutes later they left, and I never saw them again in the pool for the rest of the day.
I like to think that this wasn’t a “shooting her shot” from her part, because that would mean I mercilessly rejected her opening gesture, even though I found her attractive. Maybe she would have just asked for a bandaid. If I could turn back the time I would walk up to her and have a chat, I sometimes wonder what would have been the outcome of it.
Wrong place wrong time I guess.
