Post insane jaw surgey transformations in the thread

marpe made your palate that wide?

how was it, how long did it take and stuff. looks good
yes, nose breathing gains are amazing too.
it has been a total of around 2,5 years since braces, 2 years since MARPE and 3 weeks since UJS + genio.
Can you explain what is MARPE?

As opposed to SARPE (an acronym for Surgically Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion), Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE) uses bone borne miniscrews instead of tooth borne anchor points for expansion, there are numerous benefits fort it which I am sure you can google yourself.
It is a bit trickier for the surgeon to insert tho.

TLDR
: SARPE and MARPE in my case is interchargable since I had it surgically assisted, but I think it is worth using the S/MARPE acronym since there are some differences between tooth borne and bone borne expanders and their efficacy.

MSE tehnically is also MARPE, but people here really like Dr. Moon so they use his trademark acronym (MSE). And when referring to MSE, people usually imply that it is not surgically assisted even tho in a lot of cases it is.

you did braces then MARPE? like you closed the gap, then expanded your palate?
I thought marpe would create a gap again or something.

I still have a slight gaptooth i probably need invisalign then marpe then?
