Post surgery weight gain

Finally got off my ass and got nuss procedure done for my pectus, good results but I'm gaining weight like crazy. I'm on day three post op and I'm worried that I'm gonna end up fat by the end of the recovery period. Surgeon said weight fluctuation is normal but I want some anecdotes from those if y'all who got it done
