post-traumatic swelling

About a year ago, during a wrestling match, someone else and I took a shot at the same time, and he smashed his forehead into my under eye/eyebrow region, and I always notice that there's a permanent swelling there.

Are there any ways to get this swelling to go away for good or only temporarily?
