@8PSLcel idk about the verbal part it has a lot of big words that even native speakers would struggle at unless they've read novels which nullifies the point of IQ

I've only ever read like 3 books in my whole life. I need to get my verbal iq up to my other ones.
exactly

I used to read when I was younger which def helped in the verbal part

If i kept the habit i would likely score 120 on verbal

Yes....

I'll start by saying that my natural IQ is likely (108). I have a brain lesion, though, so it is only 100.

honestly the verbal test is retarded
im not a native english speaker so how am i supposed to answer those questions accurately
overall the avg is 122, but if we take memory and spatial only, its 133
i think if the verbal part was in my native language is would get overall 130+

what language do you speak?

Maybe. I remember watching some professor talk about how the different types of intelligence are correlated but the association starts to break down with more extreme IQs. Think bumbling mathematicians. You're approaching the extreme end, it's possible you're 2SD above average in a few areas but more average in the rest.

your english is good the problem is more that you haven't been exposed to higher vocabulary
same problem for me

read english novels

the verbal part is very context based
a person with reading experience will perform much better than a stemcel type

That's the biggest problem with IQ tests I think. They are supposed to measure your raw problem solving ability. You can measure visual logic just fine, you don't need school education to solve a puzzle. But you do need to read a bunch of books to be able to properly get your verbal intellect measured.

You're right.
the test still does gauge your initial level. It's possiblle to improve by 10 points above your baseline but not something like 25-30

i think the idea of the verbar part is that you already know these words, you just need to be able to use them well
a stupid person will use the most basic version of a word while a more intelligent person will use more obscure variations to form more coherent sounding pieces of text
and your ability to recognize these words too, but it is unfortunately also dependant on whether youre a native speaker

however we're all capped in score due to not being exposed to those words.
not easy to measure how we use words when we're seeing said words for the first time

5-10 points is probably how much you can improve your mathematical skills. I'd think that verbal intellect is more fluid though, because it relies more on knowledge. So, you could logically increase it by a larger margin.

agree but not 25-30 points . That's going from diary of a wimpy kid to War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy

My theory

Visual spatial iq = 100% genetics

Verbal iq = 60% genetics, 40% reading

I got 135 memory, 120 verbal and 93 spatial

115 overall

@Thompsonz on this mensa test you've linked i got 105 but i skipped last 5 questions because i got bored

Definitely not 30 points, you couldn't raise it that much. People fundamentally think different every 2SD. This complete cognitive change is shown for all to see with the 30 point IQ gap, basically communication between two individuals start to break down once IQ is more than 30 points apart.

It's not a scientifically proven idea but I personally believe it. Especially after listening to people talk about covid during early 2020. Most people couldn't understand the exponential nature of a virus. they thought that because now, the death rate was like 1 a day, that it's harmless. Most people didn't take into account the future.

<115 = can only understand a single dimension of a problem. ie. covid 19 has only killed 8 people, it's nothing.

115-130 = can understand two dimensions of a problem. The virus can spread exponentially and millions can die in the future.

131-145 = can understand three dimensions of a problem. The virus will mutate and thus the death rate will change.

It's an online test + i'm not a native english speaker so the verbal part is skewed. Even if you have a higher IQ, so what? I'm comfortable with my intelligence and have been complemented on it enough in my life not to feel insecure about it

sorry, but your example with covid is bullshit. A practically trivial thing that you dont have to have a high iq to understand the spread of the virus or vice versa, this is simply a problem with education in a particular field or sociology and interpretation of information

Didn't you see the cuck emoji? IQ starts to level off in reward (social skills, money making etc.) after around 120. Unless you want to be a nobel prize wining chemist, a 170 IQ isn't going to help much.

Good to know I can explain stuff in simple terms. Sign of good IQ.

This is your result at 15? Your brain only fully develops during mid 20s. It might have increased by a few points if you practice an instrument or play chess.
IQ goes down with age. We get less intelligent as time goes by.

You'd be surprised by how bad the typical person is with logical problems. I remember during my final maths test for school, everyone was struggling to answer each question, like nigga, they let you use a calculator. Anyways, I turned my sheet in 30 minutes early while the fat nerdic foid siting next to me was on the verge of tears (test made up half our marks).

It's stable up to your forties. It only drops off in your sixties.

I wish you were right, but unfortunately it's already been found that fluid intelligence decreases around age 25. Crystallized intelligence stays the same or increases with age.

That's funny.

But hey, isn't all that intuitive?

I mean, as you age your physical attractiveness decreases as well as your physical strength, overall health, muscle mass, ability to memorize and learn languages, ability to recognize faces, etc. The fact that intelligence decreases with age is intuitive if you think about it.

We are not as sharp as we age. But that doesn't mean you won't be intelligent anymore; it just means you won't be as intelligent.

I feel obliged to tell you this: even though intelligence decreases with age, you can stave off its decline with exercises like cardiovascular exercises and weight-lifting.
It will delay the decline.

You ask me, why is that? Because the brain needs oxygen to function properly. Exercises bomb oxygen to the brain, which makes it cleaner and sharper.

100.
Is an IQ test just pattern recognition?
I learned that people who are overtly conspiracy theorists have an overactive area of the brain responsible for pattern recognition and they recognize patterns that don't exist.
However, I consider myself a conspiracy theorist, even though most of them have come true making them just conspiracies without the theory.
Yet I am clearly low IQ so shouldn't I not be a conspiracy theorist since I'm clearly not good at patterns?
I also ended the test early because the patterns were getting too hard and I was just guessing, which kind of invalidates it being an accurate assessment of IQ and then comes down to just luck.

i have non verabl learning disorder to my mathematical and spatial reasoning are dogshit
Same boat. My verbal IQ is like 110-120, but my nonverbal is like 80-85.

I'm pretty good at picking up on new words and implementing them into my vocabulary, but I have trouble understanding anything of substance, like nuanced philosophical concepts, and I can't reason or think logically lol. I'm essentially like a parrot, because I'm great at regurgitating but am not able to actually digest.

Higher than I expected, am shocked:feelshehe:

The wais iv is the best test to accurately measure someone's iq. I did it when I was 17. It doesn't really test your intelligence, well it tests your ability to solve problems rapidly. But there are things that it doesnt take into consideration (like the ability to create new ideas/creativity). I had 125 on the wais test, and this one 131. Thinking fast doesn't make someone intelligent. So in that sense, iq tests dont measure your intelligence. True intelligence is the ability to think abstractly and to generate new ideas. Being good at solving advanced mathematical problems, being good at writing proofs, understanding abstract concepts is a much better indicator. How long it takes isn't very important (our prehistoric ancestors could make fast decisions, but thinking abstractly....not so much).
The only reliable subtests on the wais iv are the raven matrices and the puzzle one. I failed the kohs cubes bc I was anxious and the speed subtests are useless. So even the wais iv is half bullshit
