Hey guys I just wanted to ask if it's really necessary to buy some potassium supplements to get rid of a bloated face. I heard it could be very helpful.

Thanks for ur answers!

yes a higher potassium/sodium ratio decreases bloat but be careful with potassium you may have hearth disease risk if you overdose.

ratio is 3/1 i guess.

Thanks for the advice I didn't knew that overdosing could cause any problems. So I'm gonna start supplement and get a blood test in around 2 months does that sound like a good idea?

i also heard that potassium supplements had shit bioavailabilty, but i've been reading a few studies and apparently they're fine.
go with potassium chloride, even though you can get more potassium in the potassium citrate pills...

tbh i don't even take potassium supplements.
just eat bananas, avocadoes and spinach. the pills will get hella expensive over time.

The problem with bananas is that they have a lot of carbs and could bloat you, no?

cutting out salt helps a lot too. I've seen pretty rapid results from dosing 99mg of potassium

alright i see but arent bananas and avocados very high on estrogen? and how much of them would be necessary per day to get a 3/1 ratio?

yeah but i heard that the body needs around 4-5g of salt per day isnt that true?

Probably, I don't have a perfect diet so I'll still eat a bit of sodium (like when I go out to eat) but I generally just don't add any salt to my food when cooking at home. I haven't noticed anything adverse from lowering sodium intake.

alright so u supplement 2000mg/day + food which would be around 3000mg. do u only control ur sodium intake to 1g that the ratio fits?

I try to eat 2000-2500mg sodium a day

not sure tbh i didnt use any of them but this website says that chloride is better for supplemention meanwhile citrate is only used to prevent kidney stones. so go with chloride.

i just googled up some potassiumchloride but isnt that kind of a salt itself?

How you need 6000mg assuming you eat typical healthy American diet woth 2000mg sodium

Minoxidil cause puffy face, stop this shit

NO SUPPLEMENTS NECESSARY:
spinach
Coconut water (550mg per 250ml)
Avocado
Banana
Heart salt (healthier salt, contains 17% sodium per 1g salt, and contains potassium chloride)

You don't necessarily have to buy supplements. You just need potassium.
Getting it through food is fine as well, but some foods may be simultaneously high in things you don't want, like sugar, carbs or sodium.

Wish you the best!

is there a reason why chloride is better? i thought citrate generally had the best bioavailibility

Just ear some bananas and drink a lot of water but don't eat too many and don't take potassium supplements. It can be dangerous for your heart because you need a certain ratio of sodium, chloride and potassium for the electricity in your heart to work. Your kidney manages the levels of those electrolytes physiologically anyway. If you just stop eating too much salt and takeout foods you will be fine and no need for that debloating stuff.

I eat bananas like snacks...

But bananas have sugar and sugar bloat?
Bananas have fibre and other minerals necessary for bodily functions. This sugar won't do harm to u....
