I noticed that with one of the tripod osteotomies that the eyes become decompressed (fall back into the socket). It got me thinking about conditions where either due to poor bones, or even thyroid conditions eyes can “bulge” out and appear bigger in the face. I’m also aware of research showing that eyeball size doesn’t vary much person to person. Suggesting that eyeball size is often an optical illusion of sorts.
My idea is to cause some degree of bulging eyes, and then use implants to bring the bones in and around the eye area forward. Thus correcting the unattractive bulging eyes look while maintaining the increase in eyeball size (appearance wise)
Similar principles could be applied to the tripod osteotomy to avoid the decompression effect.
Someone please tag high iq surgerymaxers bc I’m uneducated on this topic and not sure if this idea is dumb or not
