Me and a mate were drinking, on a private Twitter space call speaking to two other friends who were also drinking.

Eventually we are all just joking around, making offensive jokes about each other.

But I didn’t realise that my window was open, and forgot about being loud (yes I am in the wrong for these things).

My neighbours heard, banged on my door, and then eventually (today) I received a noise complaint from my uni, where they outlined the racism and xenophobia.

We are all a diverse group of friends, we are literally all different mixes, and all different religions. And these are the things we were joking about, no ill intent was there whatsoever, and we’ve been friends for literally 10 years.

My uni says it’s serious and is investigating, and I could potentially get kicked out.

With my TRUE story, could I get away with it?

I understand walking down the street and hearing that shit is not good, and very stupid and immature of me and my friend, and can be perceived as offensive by someone walking past, but kicking me out is way too far.

We are a good group of lads

Universities take this shit pretty seriously, but unless they have actual proof you said anything (video or audio recordings) then they can’t really do anything. And you can easily contest any punishment if they do and maybe even come out positive

I doubt they’ll expel you but they’ll probably give you a disciplinary warning
Also if they don’t have a recording you could legally dispute it so it would be a pain for them to kick you

Calm, I won’t even admit to anything unless there is evidence.

I will just ask them about these alleged comments, I sent them and email, but not guilt was admitted.

I’m actually scared bro, but I’ve never had a disciplinary of any sort from the Uni, and my story is actually valid, and illustrates no intent.

I don’t know if they have a recording or not, based on what I’ve learnt from speaking with neighbours, I believe it’s someone across the street.

To add to that I was just on the front taking the bins out and one of the houses were staring at me and my mate.

Its such a fucked situation.

I’m hoping they don’t have evidence
