If a girl tells her friend she’s into a guy then her said friend would become very likely to be into that guy from that point on. They almost (or maybe) enjoy sharing the same dude and trying for his attention.

Is this status, ego, competition, hating eachother secretly, what is it really?

Status and ego. And I’ve seen that a lot of times the dude they’re competing for is some NT IGmaxxed MTN in their circle. That’s why LM is a joke now everything is about social media posturing and preselection.

I think ego and status like others have said, but probably also a subconcious "He is checked for flaws". I know that research suggest that a man in a relationship automatically becomes more attractive to women and that is largely attributed to the fact that another woman has already checked him for flaws and potential unseen dangers. I think this might produce a similar but milder effect

This is why I believe that if a girl sees that her 5 of her hot friends following you on IG or you have pics of a hot ex gf on ur IG, that turns her on more than a photo of your 6 pack

This is why I believe that if a girl sees that her 5 of her hot friends following you on IG or you have pics of a hot ex gf on ur IG, that turns her on more than a photo of your 6 pack
