I was prescribed for nerve pain but ended up not taking it bcuz I heard it can make you fat jfl. I tried gabapentin for a few days but that didn't do shit for me. Maybe I didn't take high enough of a dose tho

I dont think they are comparable. Opiods Hit the mu-opioid receptors which is mostly physical euphoria and addiction. withdrawal is intense but predictable. Like physical cravings.
Pregabalin Works by modulating calcium channels + GABAergic activity so more deeper effects on mood, cognition and emotional regulation so withdrawals are more psychological. I haven't had opiods but a reddit user once told me Opioids made me crave the high. Pregabalin made me feel like I lost myself.
