Over the years, I've seen many rhinoplasty results that look 'off' or out of place on a person's face. Almost as if the person undergoing the rhino had their nose removed and replaced with a foreign nose.
In this thread, I discuss what I believe is the cause behind such results and consequently, what prerequisites one must have before undergoing a rhino.
(THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE GLARINGLY LARGE NOSES THAT WOULD BENEFIT FROM RHINO REGARDLESS OF THE FOLLOWING PREREQUISITES)
Here we go...
1. Midface Ratio - As a minimum one should have as a minimum a 0.90 MFR. Why? The narrowing of the nose will make the longer midface seem more pronounced in individuals lower than 0.90.
"But Zizou, isn't a MFR of 0.90 low enough already to the point where the rhino will cuck your midface regardless?"
No, here's why...
2. Low set, wide projecting nose bridge/glabella junction - If your nose bridge/glabella junction looks like this,
you're out of luck, for now. Despite, having decent ratios, his rhino looks sort of uncanny, it's an ok result. The solution? A wider, lower set glabella with a more projecting nose bridge.
Did I also mention, I was also able to get away with narrowing the nose and alar base even further without being penalised?
This is the junction, for anatomycels:
3. FWHR - Water, don't have a face too wide other wise your rhino will look too narrow on your face. Can be salvaged with a good junction.
Morph some pics and test this out yourself.
