My dermatologist prescribed me two treatments, both Adapalene 0.3% & Tretinoin 0.05%. Keep in mind that these are my FIRST ever skincare products.
After doing some research online/on the forums, I’ve realized that what I’ve been prescribed seems pretty strong for a beginner. The crazy thing is, my dermatologist instructed me to use Tretinoin 0.05% EVERY NIGHT for thirty days straight.
From what I’ve resourced, you should start at a slow pace for two weeks and slowly pick it up. I don’t understand why she put me on such a high pace. Next thing, she also instructed me to use my Adapalene 0.3% every evening continuously.
After picking up these treatments, I went ahead and purchased Benzoyl Peroxide 5% cleanser. I’m not sure when to use this before the treatments. I’ve already started one day in and used the Benzoyl Cleanser right before applying Tretinoin 0.05%. Once more, from what I’ve read what I did is a mistake. They also said I needed moisturizer which I don’t even have right now.
The thing is should I continue with the instructions she provided or start off with a slower pace myself. Please advise me
