The average girl is extremely...well, average looking (despite all the losers out there with a oneitis who say she is perfect, you ought to listen to what she says: she really isn't all that attractive or great). Corporations and media titans know this, and as a result will tend to cater to the largest possible demographic by making the most generic sort of appeal to the mean: In other words, gracile, feminine guys like Chico and Justin Bieber aren't successful because they are the most attractive, but they are appeal the highest common denominator. Thus, the most attractive men won't necessarily be the most popular to the masses, but will be somewhere in the upper echelons easily with the most attractive, fertile women (e.g Viggo Mortensen, Idris Elba, etc.)
And most of society admits they still look up to masculine rather than feminine men:

However, the idea that pretty boys reign supreme seems to be something I only see on PSL forums and places with a lot of homosexual activity (naturally so since this is what men would prefer if they were to choose a male partner for themselves), and in reality the more masculine, hairy, dominant chad always seems to beat the younger, svelt, submissive pretty boy, who usually is forced to JBWmax in Asia or end up with some fat girl much bigger than him.
If Neanderthal Chad is in the room, it's over for Pretty Boys.
