This post is my own experience in experimenting with the diet and I havent gone out of my way to research much so you should take this post with a pinch of salt. (16yo gymcel)

Recently ive started the primal diet in the hopes of bettering my health indicators + quality of life and just being healthier in general. I completely cut out carbs aside from the lactose in milk and in rare cases consumed yogurt. my skin health definitely improved, improvements in hair and I was dramatically losing bodyfat (probably because the amount of bodyfat i currently have is from maintaining an unnatural diet and i didnt have a problem eating for pleasure)

I lost about 4kg in the span of 2 weeks after cutting out carbs and it was great but ran into a problem after cutting out carbs, This diet was meant for your ancestors who hunted for food and mainly had to run around and use weapons, so not much heavy lifting and motor unit usage and not as much fatigue. The body does compensate for the missing glucose in your body thru gluconeogenesis but its not enough for an intense workout in terms of peak strength and explosive performance so you might feel tired quicker.

So i ended up quickly being fatigued and constantly felt exhausted in the middle of workouts so i decided to search for a solution. I found that eating a good amount of glucose based foods before the workout is perfect because since the body isnt used to creating enough glucose for this kind of intensity on the body. Normally ill just have roughly 8 tablespoons of white rice an hour before my workout, since rice's primary component starch is converted to glucose during digestion. Unsure if this method is the most optimal and you can experiment with it yourself. I am also going to try substituting rice for raw honey as its also a good source for glucose.

After you are done with your workout i recommend you do 15-30 mins of low intensity cardio (i personally do incline treadmill) to burn off any remaining glycogen so it isnt stored as fat later on, and if you already burnt thru it in your workout your body will utilize stored energy (fat) to continue moving so its a win win anyways.

Aside from the energy problem in workout sessions, the primal diet has drastically improved skin health, gut health and im avoiding sickness & recovering quickly from sickness which i assume is because of the diet, two days ago i contracted a fever and today the symptoms are almost gone with mild symptoms remaining, aswell as my family recently getting a contagious sickness that i was immune to in the household.

Do with this info what you will its just my solution since ive seen a few gymcels that cant uphold their diet because of the problem i just addressed.

u js need to a lot more fats (since u lost a lot of weight, im assuming your not eating enough calories) the day before anything physically stressful, your energy levels will be fixed although it is still easier to js eat rice an hour before anything. energy levels with a carnivore/primal diet is kind of hard to manage in the beginning
