There are approximately 8.3B now, it’s worth noting that’s likely an underestimate. The industrial revolution started in Britain around 1760 and later spread globally around 1840.

There are literally billions upon billions of people who are essentially drones and would not have survived if nature took its course. This will accelerate as we become more “advanced”. Those who would not reproduce are reproducing and more than replacing them and their partner.

Do you guys ever see someone and just find yourself awestruck they survived this long? I doubt my experience is unique.

BAP mentioned noble animals hesitancy to reproduce during captivity in BOM. I don’t think this directly transfers to the greater humans of today, however it probably holds true for some of them. It’s not unfounded to predict this will become worse and worse; this will lead to the quality of each member of the human race lowering considerably with time.

Most of us will concede the world was better prior to the industrial revolution for the average individual no? With the current world population we literally need all of the bullshit to survive as a collective, the 8B must all consume slop to maintain; this is on a basic needs level and the fact most are emotionally reliant on their copes and shelter from what is real. I don’t think it’s possible for humanity to thrive anywhere near such masses.

Yeah I don’t know who reasonably thinks these “charitable organisations” are actually run for charitable reasons, probably the same people who think the IMF is to help countries build up.

There is a big and valid argument that China’s belt and road initiative is much more helpful in building up these nations compared to these so called “charitable organisations”
