The pro life movement is purely virtue signaling and a way for Christians to reaffirm their religion in the form of arguing with those who are pro choice.

I believe that there are a small group of genuine people who really feel like they’re helping kids, but for the most part it’s just the people I’ve described above.

I just find it hard to believe that they care about the lives of strangers that much but won’t go out of their way to donate to charity. If being pro life is the only humanitarian thing you’ve done then ur just trying to reaffirm ur religion.

but another view is that welfare supports the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society. it is a lifeline that exists to keep things like extreme poverty away. without it people would be dying on the streets

The better way is to give everyone work and work enough to sustain them. We don’t need the state to do this, in fact it would probably be better without the state. Giving them money seems like an easy option but that does nothing to help them or the economy in the long run. If they were given work, however, and the ability to contribute to society, they could very well benefit both themselves and the economy heavily long term.
