Prominent cheekbones is one of the rarest thing

I always assumed women got higher FWHR because of wider cheekbones. Men tend to be more angular. But your explanation seems legit. Don't know for sure who's right, but makes sense. Probably a mix of both. It's relative too.

Women have wider faces (relative) to men. What's truly dimorphic is being angular. Proof: look at top male models and top female models that aren't that gay alien in your pfp.

A higher facial width-to-height ratio (fWHR) is generally considered a male trait. Studies have shown that, on average, men tend to have a higher fWHR compared to women. This trait is associated with various masculine characteristics such as dominance, aggressiveness, and competitiveness
