I chewed hard gum (Falim brand) for a year with my premolars to reduce my midface and perform a CCW rotation of the maxilla. The maxilla rotated somewhat because my occlusal plane angle seems lower, and I also developed longer ramus. However, my chin, jaw, and maxilla have all pushed downwards. It's as if chewing created new bones or increased their density, but downwards. Here's an X-ray taken a year apart.

For about 4 hours every day, I felt slight pains or rather discomfort in my chin, but I never would have thought it could affect the bone like that, or maybe it's something else, but I really feel like my face has clearly changed in the lower third.
