one genioplasty away from happiness

i have a protruding lower lip, my chin is recessed, a recessed chin and lip incompetence heavily correlate, but i also have mild lower teeth crowding and im ethnic.
i'd imagine all of these are contributing factors although i don't have a skeletal malocclusion so i have no clue what's going on.
im going in for a genioplasty in a few months and i'm wondering if i should fix the lips by itself. as of now, i'll need more advancement so the chin is inline with the lips.
the protrusion isn't the worst in the world, it's just slightly more full, but i'll let y'all be the judge of that
is it worth seeing an ortho, i was gonna see one anyway to get an xray for further research.
whilst you're here, lmk if genioplasty is enough to save me, im looking at 8mm advancement. if i could, i'd like to avoid orthodontic treatment since i'll have to delay genio.
