You are exactly right.

Often people confuse average to mean not attractive or unattractive - just plain in appearance.

But the average of the population is actually moderately unattractive.

Plain looking is above average.

OK. Easy. PSL is a normal distribution. The average is always the same. Saying the average psl is 3 is like saying the average IQ is 85. You're wrong by definition.
