I am genetically inclined not to take naps, so I can only sleep once. If I do fall asleep, that is. Sometimes I’m not that lucky, unfortunately.

genetics dont really matter for naps, in a polyphasic sleeping schedule, if u skip naps, you will build sleep debt, this will create pressure for you to take naps eventually

I always thought of online friends as comparable to having schizophrenia - as crazy as it sounds.

Think about it, a schizophrenic will talk to someone that isn't actually there, and will still feel comfort by talking to them.

The same way, an 'online friend' can help and comfort you, but realistically they aren't there in real life. They can't support you or be there for you physically which is the most important part of a friendship.

So being schizophrenic is actually better than online friendships, because in your head you're atleast interacting with your made up friends.

Writing this at 5:43 AM, I didn’t tplan would be doing this again, but I’m left without a choice. I have somewhere to be early in the morning, and I won’t be getting home until at least twelve hours from now. It’s going to be a long day. I have been up since noon on Monday, and I most likely won’t go to sleep until it’s Wednesday midnight.

Been teaching and evaluating teachers in a sweltering 3rd world school out in the jungle. No air conditioning or anything modern. When I'm not doing that Ive been having to write extremely specific lesson plans with a lot of boundaries. My kid, wife and I have been staying in a cramped little hotel room, and I often have to work when they're sleeping to be able to think. Most days I've been running on 2-3 hours of sleep most days.

By Friday I'll have my new accreditation. Gotta teach again in 3 hours and one more time tomorrow.

Are they making you write lesson plans or are you choosing to do them instead? Because I can understand if they are making you do it. But given your experience, I don't think you'll be having trouble with it. I recall having to make lesson plans last school year and I barely managed to it correctly. I have to write very detailed lesson plans in a very specific way outlined by this accreditation course. When I was a teacher I never put a lot into lesson planning. My plans were always very simple. At this course there's a lot of boundaries and stipulations to how the plans/activities should go it takes a lot of time to come up with the shit. Often I'll spend an entire evening making the plan and the instructor will tell me to do it again when I show him tge next day.

The course is meant to be very hard like that so that we'll find teaching easier. I'm the only one of the cohort with teaching experience. Our first week if actual teaching was paired teaching with a partner. They put the strongest ones with the weakest ones. Of course they put me with a complete bumbling basket case. 60 year old white Australian woman. Working with her was hell. I ended spending the first entire weekend just re doing everything myself because she messed up her bits so badly. She'd intentionally try to make things harder. First lesson plan we did the instructor fave us detailed feedback. She told me that she'd fix everything so I sat around for half a day waiting for her to send me the revised plans. When she finally sent me the revision she ended up changing everything he said was good. Everything he said was bad she changed to, but made a the same mistakes. I wanted to kill her. The entire time I had waited for her my kid had been wanting to go to the pool. My wife can't swim so he never got to go swimming that weekend because I had to spend it's entirety fixing everything.
