Hello fellow looksmaxers.

During an autistic research about braces I stumbled on this article:

With as research:

Unfortunately I cant open the link and read the research. If anyone knows how to open pubmed, please share with me.

It's an old research done is 1976. 2 orthodontic cases are examined of a twin who had similiar problems. One got the traditional orthodontic treatment, where 2-6 tooth are extracted during the youth and with braces the teeths are pushed back together. The other one got an expander and afterwards the teeth are pushed together with braces.

Here are the results. It's interesting to see how the mouth area is way wider, but proportional to face ( see my autistic drawing done on phone). The nose also looks better on the expanded face.
The patient who had the teeth pulled got a long midface, while the expanded patient got better ratio's.

Its known that extraction is blupill way to fix teeth

But sometimes it's good thing to prepare surgery:
You extract 2 lower teeth, recess lower teeth , then u get 5 more mm BSSO

Yeah definitely. Unfortunately aesthethetic outcome is often neglected in orthodontic treatment. I still know to this day that people often pull teeth for the treatment.
The expander options is almost never discussed and people assume that the "specialist" know better. It's kind of insane that specialist barely share all the options, how crazy they may be, so the patient can make better decisions.

When surgery is advised you usually got a blackpilled specialist or an more open minded person. In that case it's worth to pull some teeth out for surgery.

Im in an actual ortho treatment

When i started the treatment i told him i will accept 0 extraction and 0 elastics

Soon getting bimax

I could benefit to get extraction from lower to get more BSSO but i don't want to add 5month treatment, be more ugly to then bimax while i'm still getting 10-12mm BSSO

Im in the same boat. Had bad teeth and 2 were pulled when I was like 12. I had a slight underbite so they pulled my upper palette backwards. The 2 teeth came from my upper palette to make them fit. Such bluepill move.
Now getting a bimax to fix some problems, like the sleep apnea I developed. I got a class 2 side profile.

Reading these research I wonder how my face would look like without the treatment. Because of the orhodontic treatment my upper palette isn't straight horizontal, cause symmetry issues from my nose till my chin. Still angry at my orhodontic after 10+ years.

I got a longer then preffered midface, small lips, since I am recessed. Luckily i got an above average chin, but my jaw is nonexistent.
Still thinking about getting MSE, but the surgeon didn't recommend. Perhaps I try after bimax, however it's not preferred after surgery. Would fix some of my long midface.

u need bimax CCW

Don't do straight bimax

Bimax CCW will help with the midface and the jawline

Wisdom Teath doesn't do much as far as I know. Need to read the research of the blackpill surgeon to know for sure. It's worth to pull teeth for surgery.

How old are you?

I will kill my Orthodontist with a kitchen knife if she tries to give me elastics (in gmod)
