How would you solve this question? My answer:

From each column, we can see that there are always two different numbers of shaded shapes. E.g. first column has 2,1,2 shaded shapes same applies to third column. From this, we can infer that the second column does not have 3 shaded shapes, ruling out options b, c and d.

From all the squares, we can deduce that vertical lines are always connected to at least one horizontal line. Therefore, this rules out option E and leaves A.

My final answer is A. Do you all have any alternative methods to this question?
