From my research quant jobs are insanely hard to get into as you need crazy knowledge of maths.You are competing with math olympiad winners for a handful of slots. Even if you somehow meet the requirements to get a job in quant, if your trading algorithms stop making money or hit a bad market regime you can be let go incredibly quickly.
