Use moisturizer at night. Before and after applying.

Also sunscreen every morning alongside a moisturizer.

Give it a week or two. Your skin needs to adjust. Especially if you started these two products at the same time.

also should i be sandwiching if its just adapalene? my plan is to go thru the whole tube then hop on tret .25 or .5, the dryness is bad but its not horrendous, is it fine to keep not using moisturizer before it or no? cuz thats what i do already

You don't need to do the whole sandwich. Just apply moisturizer afterwards until the skin adjusts. Then you can just put it on alone. After that then change to tret.

you should try slugging. basically what you do after using your adapalene and then using your moisturizer, apply a thin layer of vaseline all over your face. it traps in water and can reduce irritation. don’t do it every night. it helps me a lot.

you need to space it out. Like skip a night then do it

Azelaic acid and adapalene isn't that strong buddy, i was on azelaic acid 20% and 0,5 tret for 5 month, no moisturizer and my skin never been purging or irritation
