Went to a new dentist today and what he told me is that my teeth are gapped because they are too small compared to my larger bones, and that it could be fixed with braces.

If I were to get braces would this affect my looks negatively or positively?

I would say I have a slightly wider than normal face/jaw so it makes sense that my teeth have gaps but I'm worried about how I would look after if I were to get braces.

And If I were to get braces what type should they be?
(I don't have an overbite/underbite btw just gapped teeth)

braces fearmongering is ridiculous, as long as ur not extracting then theres nothing to worry about. Get a nice smile bhai, its a great halo

Bro, not even extraction will affect you that bad.
Most extractions today are done for crowding. So they either take your wisdom teeth or premolars
If they take it to retract the maxilla its usually a inexperienced dentist rather than a professional orthodontist

We have Herbst appliance and elastics JFL retraction and retrusion is left in the 1990s
