Question about Braces in adults

I'm 20 and I've never had braces but I'm going to have to use them because one of my canines is impacted and the dentist told me that i need to open up more room so this teeth can fit in, should I be worried about the braces recessing my face?

Braces dont recess once the face is almost fully grown already. Theyll just move and reposition teeth, facial bone dont get affected other than improving alignment. Its only shitty for young kids where they hold a certain dental arch whilst their face is trying to naturally grow and widen it but it cant
