I’m 16 and I’m not sure if I should really do a DIY chin filler because of how my body is still developing.

The thing is, at 16, your tissues and soft tissue structures are still changing—for example, the thickness of my soft tissue will increase by about 1 mm in a year.

Also, at 16, the tissue still “forms” the bone and sharpens the contour, and since I’m injecting the hyaluronic acid almost directly onto the bone, I’m not sure if this acid could cause any issues.

Also, my chin will probably grow another 4–7% by the time I’m 18, which means the mentalis muscle will have to adapt to the chin’s new size, and I just don’t want to do anything now that I’ll regret later.

Should I just go ahead with it or wait a little longer?

What i meant that if the filler resorbs itself, it will simply disappear. It wont migrate, no effect on bone growth. Either way, the chin stops growing at like the age of 4, so

Look at fig. 2, the mandible is my only bone that’s still growing.
In it’s gonna resorb after like 12-18 months but in that period it can migrate

Yes i've seen that, but, seldomly the chin quickly stops developing at a young age, and any change is only gonna affect width, or it's the anabolic hypertrophy of the chin muscle

Oh okay yeah I’ve just read that the tissues will thicken so that will give a bit more projection but not much (what makes even more unsure about the Filler)

It might not grow as much as you’re expecting. There’s no way to predict this.

I do think you should go ahead with DIY filler. Your chin will not grow to a large enough extent that it will look weird or cartoonish with filler.

So, just fix the current issue with filler

Chin can definitely still widen and it will a lot
Except the shape remains the same and it wont protrude

The only thing I worry about is the movement of the tissue because it’ll thicken aswell and I’m scared that it’ll cause the filler to migrate and look weird

Alr, I’ll do a bit more research, if I do it I’ll post the results

Chin filler usually does not. Of course there are a few measures you should take right after injecting, but it’s no longer something to worry about after a few days.

You can also dissolve it whenever you’d like.

It’ll last about a year. If it starts looking off before then, you can dissolve it.
