Question about half lifes

So if something i consume has a half life of lets say 5 hours. Quantity is 100g. After 5 hours it halfs to 50g so how long before the substance is entirely out of my system?

Is it just a continous every 5 hours it halfs or is it after 10 hours it disappears, I feel retarded

There's theoretical arguments for both sides of the question (especially if you are talking molecular) but, but in general with regard to medications, once the minimal dose you can take for action to occur is reached in half-lives, the next half-life basically means it is "out of your system"

Let’s just say we are talking about caffine as it’s about 5 hour half life, you’d need 3-4 half lived for it to be fully out of your system
