Allah holds back to give you what you desire so that you may be drawn closer to Him and learn trust, patience, and dependence on Him. He wants your heart to long for Him and notthe worldly things more. If He gives you everything you desire all at once, you might forget Him, love the gifts and not the Giver, and forget the deeper purpose of worship.

But we already live in a material world, where we get what we want sometimes.
