well, i got into it mainly because I had a personal encounter with Jesus
and thanks to the great arguments that great intelligent minds wrote such as Aquinas or Hipona, as well as Scotus.

I always say this, read some Aristotle, and after that get into Aquinas
it literally makes you Christian because it debunks by his own almost all the critics against him.

God bless you

I was raised catholic, but I myself did study theology, also even if I wasn’t raised so, by what to read/ you can read Leibniz as an example for this one.
It’s also interesting, I’m not that catholic I think in some aspects, i don’t believe in those stupid crazy stories of the “saints”, I also don’t follow the heretical church.

That's why later on he speaks on the Trinity and proves it via his metaphysic tools
Also I love how Scotus proves the Trinity too
Overall Aquinas is great to show you how Christianity is rational

Religion is cope dont go into that pathway

but its very good cope i think

People who say is cope it's because they haven't readed anything tbh
They say that because they lack the ability to understand it dw :COFFEE:

I will bet my entire life saving if you were born in a non Christian country you won't be one. And no you aren't special and you didn't met jesus

sadly for you it doesn't change anything in what I said, you won't be able to debunk it
Furthermore, you don't even know me :pepePoint:, i could have been raised in an atheist family and you wouldn't even know
Also my country is aconfesional so... good one ig?

Keep crying :DankPepe:

born into it personally but i was non practicing then came back. many arguments like fine tuning argument, contingency argument, innate belief in higher power (humans are born thinking there is a god), first cause, intentional design argument, and more. some people like @MediterraneanMoid will say they had a dream or something but this is obviously not a good argument because the homeless guy on heroin also sees stuff.

being religious is the ultimate cope and good for mental health because if you are religious you will learn to accept bad things in your life if you know something better will come in the afterlife. i saw a video of a blind amputee who was happy with himself because of his religiousness, where as someone in the same situation who was an atheist would probably commit suicide.

think of pascals wager aswell. id recommend watching muslim lantern on yt. very logical guy with good arguments not only for islam but for thiesm aswell. you can also dm me if you have questions.

Brother he asked what got us into religion, i didn't offer that as an argument itself and later on I explain where to find great arguments and from who I took those, come on mane...

I mean you can't really debunk it either... so it's fine bhai
You haven’t proved it/can’t prove it so therefore it’s illogical for us to try to debunk it. The burden of proof is on you to say that you “interacted w Jesus” not for us to debunk something that isn’t even a reality.

It’s very illogical to believe something because of personal experience or dreams or whatever

You're treating my statement as if I were making an empirical claim that needs to be proven, but I wasn't, I was sharing a personal experience as i clearly stated in the first reply I gave.

Not all beliefs are based on demonstrable proof. Many of the things people reasonably believe (trust, meaning, personal experiences) are grounded in subjective experience, and that doesn't automatically make them illogical or irrational. You're completely free to reject my experience, but rejecting it isn't the same as disproving it.

Also, saying “in fact” like the other guy did, is itself a claim about reality, so that would require justification too, it's not a neutral position. And i didn't say I believe due to that unique experience, if you see my reply again you will see two parts.

A first one replying "how did you get into it" and the other one explaining "why I still hold that belief to this day"
Thats all, take care.

uhuhuhuhuhuh...my parents are into it...i can read it...i can understand it (in this case christianity) well enough...but its very hard for me to identify with it...i dont really merge with the words...

in other words, there cna be kind of a difference between understanding religion and like...living it. but both sides are okay...i think :feelsbadman::coffee::f::yes::yes::yes::yes:
