the answer to your second question is no, there is no privacy and there hasn't been for a long time. if the feds are REALLY after you they will get you.
however if you are an average joe schmoe who hasn't done anything crazy illegal online (and even if you have it's still doubtful you'll get into trouble), you'll be good

this shit runs deep. that second laptop you buy will have a back end chip (because the NSA made it illegal for these companies to not back end them) that can monitor everything you do and alter information seamlessly. but like i said, it's probably not that deep. depends how illegal you're talking
