What are tornadoes like? I've never experienced one.

They fucking suck. Usually when a tornado blows through here where I live in Michigan the power goes down for like four days straight. There's nothing to do during that time because the Wi-Fi is down and you don't want to use your phone because you need it for a flashlight.

Last year a tornado came through the day after we had just bought $300 worth of meat from Costco and or freezer was filled with it.. The power was out for three days and all our meat was ruined. Not to mention the milk and everything else in the fridge. And to add financial insult to financial injury we had to eat our three times a day during that time because our electric stove didn't work either.

You know what really pisses me off? During the decade I lived in developing countries, even in fucking Cambodia, not once did I experience a power outage that lasted more than three hours. In the US this has happened every year since we came back in 2021. In 2022 the power was out six days straight during my son's first birthday. America really is a fucking shit hole these days in so many ways compared to the rest of the world.

Aww man that sucks to hear, especially the last paragraph. Yeah, what prompted me to ask this question was me checking Wikipedia and discovering there recently had been a deadly tornado, killing at least two dozens of people. It also said 600,000 customers were without power as a result of this. I have also experienced four days without electricity somewhat recently and it just plain sucks. You're totally right about the last part, by the way. I've been overseas too and power outages last a few hours at most, whereas here in the west we deal with it much longer once we're affected. I half-jokingly said to my family, "Seems like The Netherlands has been taking notes from Pakistan and outperforming them in being worse."
