Strom Thurmond was a segregationist senator from South Carolina. He was a big opponent of the Civil Rights movement. He married a white woman and had kids with her. But he had a secret. He had a black daughter that no one knew about. When he was about 22, his family had a 16 year old black girl as a maid. He ended up banging the 16 year old JB black girl and getting her pregnant. It was kept top secret. He kept in contact with her and supported her financially behind the scenes. But she didn't go public about being his daughter after he died.
Strom Thurmond died in 2003 at the age of 100. His black daughter, Essie Mae Williams died in 2013 at age 87. Strom Thurmond now has a gang of black grandchildren and great grandchildren out there.
