He said he won’t remove my wisdom teeth when advancing the mandible with bsso.

I havnt heard this ever.

Is this safe?

Sounds pretty safe to me, and it’s always good to have wisdom teeth unless if they are impacted ofc, other than that removing them will only cause problems.

Yes when the mandible is thick enough to allow a BSSO path without wisdom teeth in the way, it's possible and we have done it at giant in some cases. In most cases it is not possible because most BSSO patients mandibles are too underdeveloped.

Is there a risk of non union since the cut is done far back so the while mandible is being supported by a small piece of bone in the back?
