when i was in the shower, i discovered this new method i have been trying for a week, and i already see slight results, ill keep you guys updated on this new method, but here is a quick rundown
(let me know if this is efficient )
why is the hyoid bone important??
if it’s low/unsupported it ruins your jawline no matter how hard you cope. If you strengthen the suprahyoids you can pull the hyoid and loose skin higher creating a tighter area under the jaw.
How to do it:
first you put some water in your mouth ( 50-75% full is perfect)
Seal your lips close your mouth and , keep cheeks relaxed.
This creates a “swishing” or “pumping” motion with the water forward and back.
you’re doing it, clench your jaw
and you’ll feel your facial muscles activate and start burning along with under the chin.
Do it slow and controlled, not fast.
Progressions:
Try it with your head tilted back for extra difficulty.
Add static holds at the back of the tongue.
What this does overtime
This trains the suprahyoid muscles (mylohyoid, geniohyoid, digastric) which are the ones that lift the hyoid bone. Stronger = tighter under chin + better support for tongue posture. The jaw clench makes the surrounding facial muscles fire up , so you’ll feel a burning sensation in the face and under the chin where your hyoid is located, this tightens up the neck-to-jaw area.
me personally I do this as i’m showering, making sure i get it done twice a day, adding it to a part of my routine
