99% of muslims do not because they actually end up overeating and gaining weight, they overeat when breaking thier fast and indulge in sweets/sugary things.

I don't practice it at all. It largely has been cope for me in my life, but that said I do think a traditional lifestyle with some religious values can go a long way. That said, Ramadan can be a good test for fasting and seeing how you fare. The problem is most Muslims gorge on garbage during Ramadan.

Standard thing in Pakistan households. Fried foods and sweets is their idea of Ramadan. A lot of food waste too.
