16mm genioplasty

Yeah insane. I am like 90% certain that guy got scammed by his pdf file ortho in the first place into not doing bimax and agreed for “genio only” and Ramieri just went for it. Then in the planning phase he obviously wanted his chin to be par with his lips and just turned out to be 16mm while he thought it’d be like 8mm at best since ortho gaslighted him into thinking his jaw “isn’t a big deal” and genio “would do the job”. Idk I’ve been through this and almost felt for this scam myself.
The other 10% chance is that he was too much of a pussy for bimax but I am more inclined to believe he was just scammed by some Western ortho and Ramieri didn’t really want to argue(idk why, mb for legal reasons or he just can’t be asked).

That's literally my jaw 1 to 1 and he obviously needed rotation.. His occlusal plane must be fucking crazy, just like mine.

This type of shit is basically on par with "camouflage orthodontics" and I am pretty sure the guy who got this surgery is going to regret this shit for the rest of his life or until he actually gets revision and bimax one day.

I don't know how Ramieri agreed to do a 16mm Genio irrespective of what the guy told him Never knew it was even possible. Brvtal

To add, I was actually told by a maxfac that he can do 15 mm genio on me, because he wasn't willing to do jaw surgery for cosmetic reasons. I wrote that off not just because it'd look worse aesthetically than splitting it up between jaw and chin, but also because depending on the exact case and technique, I believed there's a good chance adding jaw is actually safer (at least on the nerves).

I mean yeah adding an osteotomy on the jaw makes it a much more major surgery, but say you do like 8 mm bsso + 7 mm genio, surely you have a better chance of recovering sensation everywhere than if you put so much stretch on one point?

Yeah agreed.

I’ve been coping with fillers for the last year. I had them injected by a doc with a pretty good rep for fillers in the forum.

I can tell by touch and looking at pictures that the filler is not as sharp as it used to be. But it has given me a really good jaw from the side and the front. Unfortunately you can still tell the asymmetry from the angle of the lips and it can look a bit weird so I’ll be doing bimax.

But fillers have improved my quality of life so much and even if you had to touch it up once in a while it’s very worth it.

Who was the doc who did your filler?

Looks clean from the side (soft tissue wise), but thinking about it, recovery and muscle reatachment would have been very hard, curious to see if the guy got any complication afterwards.
