we all know that angularity of the jaw is important for facial aesthetics.
but what causes that angulairity?
Extremely angular jaw shape:
Less angular jaw shape:
the chin was changed to become "pointy" which basically means the width and or projection is lacking
the ramus shorter creates a less angular shape at the gonions
very unangular jaw shape:
Commonly known as "v shape" and " oval face jaw"
the chin is is completely narrow and the ramus is short and relatively narrow.
..
So how would the shape become more angular?
If we simulate ramus width change or masseter hypetrophy we could realise how this works.
the black is bone and the red represents how it would look from the front.
if the masseters became wider watch what would happen.
the jaw shape would look more like an actual V . It still lacks height. just like the other example possibly could.
So what if we change ramus height?
looks more square .
Look at the side for an example of how the ramus affects the jaw even more
and for the chin if it becomes more equally projected and or tall it becomes square shaped.
basically common plastic surgery knowledge tbh ngl
