To be honest this is more of a way for me to practice my understanding and evaluate how much endocrinology I know, so I'm open to questions that can challenge my thinking and give me a way to try and answer questions and practice my knowledge
Asks questions about the following, I'll state what I'm researching as of now
Hormones in general and the classical glands along with what they secrete (i.e. adrenal gland with its cortex secreting coristol and aldosterone and its medulla secreting adrenaline iirc, other glands like the pituitary, pineal, etc)
Differentiation between endocrine system and nervous system
Differentation between steroid hormones and peptide hormones (fat soluble vs water-soluble and how that affects how they are secreted, how some need caririers, what each are built off -> i.e. peptide hormones are derived from amino acids, and how it affects receptors -> such as how peptide hormones cannot pass through the cell membrane and require the need to bind to a receptor -> expansion onto GCPRs -> vs steroid hormones and how they can pass directly into the cell
Paracrine agents vs hormones and how they act locally along with inter vs intracellularly
Any hormone tbh, i.e. peptide hormones like insulin, FTH, LSH, gh, and more vs steroid hormones
I know more tbh but can't yap all of that rn, can ask about longitudinal growth topics asw like chondrocyte diffeentation and ossification along with relating subjects, I'll try my best to answer with precise knowledge from memory
Everything I say will be based off the text fo Williams textbook of endocrinology
