The My Lai massacre was a United States war crime committed on March 16, 1968, involving the mass murder of unarmed civilians in Sơn Mỹ village, Quảng Ngãi province, South Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. In this picture the young woman is hiding behind her mother after having had her shirt ripped by the US soldiers when they attempted to rape her, imagine what kind of pain she is feeling, and the pain her mother is feeling seeing her child go through that.
