do all mouth breathers have gummy smiles? I started mouth breathing at around 9 years old and carried on till i was 16 but im 25 now and ive been nose breathing for almost 10 years but ive never had a gummy smile even though i did it for 7 years.

No not all mouthbreathers have gummy smiles, but it's much easier for your maxilla to recess and jaw to downswing if you do

I dont think i was effected by it that much since it wasnt that long and i only really did it sometimes (mostly in my sleep) . I hit puberty at 14 so i dont think i wasted my puberty or anything. I still probably couldve looked better if i didnt do it at all during that period. My mouth, jaw, cheekbones, are fine but i do have a bump on my nose (not sure if this is due to mouth breathing or i've always had a crooked nose).
