well im not sure why family says things like that but its probably better to trust people here with it. I think a lot of peoples parents just like specific things and try to force them onto their kids

Society finds longer hair to look better. As an example girls love it like middle length or a bit shorter.
Mainly depends on what attention u want. If u want the alt huzz get ur hair really long, if you want to fit well everywhere js grow ur hair but not too long n if u js want the attention of "alpha males" get buzz.
Personally im w long ash curly hair n get compliments everyday some girls even add me cuz they liked my hair. But still i dont advice u on getting it too long. Aim for those tt white boys hair
