Yea, I always notice my lower back with these. I usually do them on legg day but it such a despicable exercise. This was an enlightening talk I am going to replace the exercise.Only benefit to them is building the lower back, and there’s other exercises that are better than it for building lower back, like good mornings. Majority of injuries come from them too. I think they’re fine if you don’t max out on them and do absolute perfect form, but I don’t do them just because I don’t like the exercise itself.
Look at a video of Dorian Yates doing them. He does them on this piece of equipment (idk the name) that locks his ankle in place with a pad on his quads, with a straight bar on his back.Yea, I always notice my lower back with these. They have a poor stimulus to fatigue ratio. It just doesn’t stimulate hypertrophy well enough and burns tf out of u. When I switched to Rdl the gains were much better.I hate deadlifts myself but almost everybody recommends them. Can you give me some more arguments as to why they are useless?
