Yes and no.
Face matters more but at the end of the day it is by far the hardest and most time consuming thing to fix (unless its dropping bodyfat or fixing up skin)
hence it makes more sense to put more effort into body and frame at the start of your looksmaxxing journey because it is easiest to fix/create a hailo

the reason why manual labour is better cause it brings u a body enlightment - ull fully understand ur body, gain total control over it and learn how to be efficient (aka how much force to use for each job) you basically become a machine that can stay swole all day.
the problem with the gym is that the exercises teach you how to only use your muscle in short burst movements for like 10 seconds. then u look like shit for basically 1-2 minutes. literally useless if u wanna be fit.
