It's not cope at all. I don't have scleral show myself unless I'm looking like 60 degrees up in the sky (like anyone). Scleral show is only a major issue if it's due to droopy eyes. If there is scleral show due to other reasons than a bad eye shape, then it can add to the eye area, making it appear dark triad-esque.
